<p>Now you don&#8217;t need me to tell you that Manchester is a blinder of a night out. The city&#8217;s ever-evolving, ever-innovative bar scene can lay claim to the crown as one of the best in the north, hell, the entire country. From passion project hideouts to upscale drinking dens and enduringly cool haunts, if you&#8217;re looking for a stiff drink in a dark bar, well, you&#8217;ve come to the right place. </p>



<p>But that&#8217;s not just me talking. The <a href="https://www.top50cocktailbars.com">UK&#8217;s Top 50 Cocktail Bars</a> list, plucking the very best from around the country, has just been announced, naming five Manchester bars in its acclaimed line-up. Last year, it was <a href="https://www.schofieldsbar.com">SCHOFIELD&#8217;S BAR</a> that claimed the coveted top spot. And although it&#8217;s toppled from first place, this Art Deco beauty has now been crowned the third best bar in the UK. If you haven&#8217;t made it in here, expect wood panelling, pristinely-turned-out bar tenders, and a terrifically cool atmosphere for sinking punchy cocktails. </p>



<p>Elsewhere, <a href="https://speakincodebar.com">Speak in Code</a> &#8211; a pop-up bar that found a permanent bricks-and-mortar joint just off St Peter&#8217;s Square &#8211; appears at number 11, adored for its clever flavours and hip hop playlists. Set in the former banking quarter of Spring Gardens, <a href="https://www.blinkerbar.co.uk">Blinker </a>made it to 22, a sceney, grown-up sort of space, where guests work their way through its Martini and Old Fashioned menus. </p>



<p>A newbie on the list is <a href="https://www.instagram.com/stray.bar/">Stray</a> at number 25, the creative spot squirrelled away in Mackie Mayor. Quietly making ripples on the city&#8217;s bar scene with its iconic tomato margarita (tomato vine tequila, mezcal, helios tomato, agave, acid blend, lime oil), Stray is definitely one to watch. And finally, speakeasy-inspired <a href="https://www.redlightmcr.co.uk">Red Light</a> is new to the list for 2025. The LLGBTQ bar opened in 2023 in the micro hood of Kampus and reached a very respectable number 40. </p>
