Cosycore: the interior trend we’re raving about this winter
Hibernation mode is in full swing. What better way to embrace the short days and long nights than with cosycore? Stripy cushions, fluffy blankets, glowing candles and drinking in your underwear…

Detaljer’s Meraki Candles
The Finns, magnificently, have a word for drinking at home alone in your underwear. Pantsdrunk! And given they’re one of the happiest nations on the planet, this is one relaxation ritual Muddy is very thrilled to abide by. Just add in a few glowing fragrant candles, like this one from Scandi lifestyle store, Detaljer, in Knutsford, and you’re all set. Just make sure you turn up the heating. And whatever you do, keep those curtains shut.

Nordic Muse Stoneware Mug, Madam Stoltz
Cool and contemporary Nordic Muse on the Northern Quarter’s Tib Street is a bit of a love letter to Scandinavian design, blurring the lines between superior craftmanship and simplicity. We love pretty much everything stacked in its store, from timeless jewellery collections to homely knick knacks. But how much do you want to top up this mug with something warm and punchy (amaretto-spiked hot choc for us over at Muddy HQ) and hide yourself away from the world?

Homebird Interiors Monty Faux Mongolian Thrown
Just because our student days are well and truly behind us, doesn’t mean we can’t occasionally wrap ourselves up in a fluffy blanket, lie spread-eagled on the sofa and eat ice cream straight from the tub. In fact, whoever invented duvet days should be hailed a hero. Pop into Homebird Interiors (stores in Wilmslow, Altrincham, Heswall and Cheadle Hulme) to nab one of these Mongolian throws, and whilst you’re there, you might just find yourself drooling over the squishy boucle chairs, the glowing lamps and rustic wooden furniture.

Arighi Bianchi’s Mice cheese board
Crackling fire? Check. Thick, woolly socks? Check? PJs on? Check. And a great big board of whiffy cheese? Now that’s cosy. Gather up your favourite wedges and serve them on this rustic board and ta-dah, you have the perfect night in. All thanks to this iconic interiors store in Macclesfield that, quite frankly, will burn a hole in your purse, but will always bring a huge grin to your face.

Stephanie Claire Art original paintings
How delicious is this? All calming hues, layers and layers of paint, and the sort of textures you just want to poke from Cheshire-based artist Stephanie Claire. Having suffered PTSD after working in the emergency services, the abstract artist turned to paintbrushes and is forging a successful art career with some of her works popping up at Didsbury’s Next Door Gallery and in Knutsford’s new Mallorcan-inspired R.I Home. We guarantee you’ll find yourself fumbling for your debit card.

Neptune’s Overton wall hanging
Ok, so I know we like to rave about the indie stores across Cheshire on Muddy. But when we’re talking all things interiors, well, you can’t deny Neptune always brings out the big guns. Whether you flock to the vast Knutsford store, out-in-the-sticks, or whip across to Chester, go and gaze at this insanely intricate artwork crafted using Chinese papermaking techniques. It’s subtle yet standout and will look cracking in neutral, let’s-snuggle-down interior schemes.

Rose & Grey’s Amuse La Bouche Ochre & Ivory Ruffle Striped Cushion
Pull off your shoes, grab a steaming cuppa, flop on the sofa and nope, you’re not going anywhere. Especially when you’re cosied up to this stripy, ruffled cushion. As all you interior buffs know, stripes are still very much de rigueur. As is anything from Altrincham’s flagship store of Rose & Grey, whose founders have always got their finger on the pulse when it comes to new and upcoming interior trends.

Still Life’s nkuku Yala Hammered Wine Glass
You didn’t think we were going to bang on about cosycore without mentioning wine did you? Whether you’re wrapped up in a blanket, revelling in pantsdrunk or having a tipple or three with your besties at home, you’re going to need some good-looking vessels. And these hammered beauties from Stockport’s Still Life, made from recycled glass, are just the ticket.
