<p>Whenever I have a friend to come and stay from Australia, I always want to take them somewhere that feels British with yummy country pub food. Which usually means driving over to Mobberley to one of either the Roebuck Inn, The Church Inn or The Bull’s Head. But if I had to pick, my favourite would be the Roebuck Inn. I love the fish tacos and if you arrive on a hot day, the terrace is a gorgeous spot to hang out.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-groobarbs-wild-farm-high-legh"><a href="https://groobox.co.uk/field-kitchen">Groobarbs Wild Farm, High Legh</a></h2>



<p>These guys grow the most amazing seasonal vegetables in a sustainable way, using less pesticides and delivering their veg boxes direct to your door. They also now have a restaurant on site, Groobarbs Field Kitchen, which uses vegetables from the farm that have been picked that day – a real farm-to-fork experience. I highly recommend going there.</p>

<p>I visited this place in the Northern Quarter and I fell a little bit in love with it. I’m all about sharing a meal – that’s exactly what I want to do when I go out for dinner and 10 Tib Street dishes up these gorgeous sharing plates. The food, the service, it was all outstanding.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-just-between-friends-wilmslow-nbsp"><a href="http://www.justbetweenfriendscoffee.com/">Just Between Friends, Wilmslow&nbsp;</a></h2>



<p>I’m from Melbourne, which I reckon has the best coffee in the world, so you could say I’m a bit of a coffee snob. And this place just has really really good coffee. For years, Wilmslow was lacking in decent coffee places and instead just had chains. So when Just Between Friends opened it was like, oh my god, Halleluiah! The vibe is cool and relaxed, the coffee is good and the baristas are really friendly. Nowhere else does coffee quite the same.</p>

<p>This is another one of my favourites if I’m in town. Obviously their small plates are no secret, but I was truly blown away on my last visit. You just know you’re being served amazing quality food. But I love the fact it’s low-key. There’s nothing flashy or gimmicky about the place. It’s down-to-earth but with seriously good food.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-the-hook-club-mottram"><a href="https://www.thehookclub.co.uk/">The Hook Club, Mottram</a></h2>



<p>I’m obsessed with padel. It’s really having a moment here in Cheshire and new padel courts keep on popping up. It’s taking over the county. My two favourite places to play are at The Hook Club in Mottram and The Padel Club, Wilmslow. You can take lessons there or just book a court and whack a few balls around. It’s so addictive, fun and social. I love it.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-dafferns-knutsford"><a href="https://www.instagram.com/daffernsknutsford/">Dafferns, Knutsford</a></h2>



<p>I love Dafferns &#8211; an eclectic lifestyle store on Knutsford’s Kings street. Everything is so cute and when I walk in, I want to buy the entire shop! The owner, Charlotte, is incredibly creative. She pulls together the most gorgeous flower arrangements and sources lovely unique interior pieces and knick knacks that I can&#8217;t resist buying for my home and studio. </p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-skinology-lab-wilmslow"><a href="https://www.facebook.com/skinologylabwilmslow">Skinology Lab, Wilmslow</a></h2>



<p>If I want to treat myself, I book an appointment with Victoria at Skinology Lab, a tranquil private skin clinic in the heart of Wilmslow. Victoria is an industry leader in creating bespoke clinical facials with a holistic approach targeted to your skin type and needs. She also creates facials for cancer patients going through treatment, which I think is wonderful. She’s a miracle worker and I come out glowing every single time.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-the-cheshire-smokehouse-wilmslow"><a href="https://cheshiresmokehouse.co.uk/">The Cheshire Smokehouse, Wilmslow</a></h2>



<p>If you’re looking for great local produce, nothing beats the Smokehouse in Wilmslow. It is an independent family-run business and I swear it sells the best sourdough in Cheshire &#8211; all baked  onsite. The shop also has its own butchery where you’ll find the best quality locally sourced fresh meat and poultry – a big tick for me.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-the-edge-alderley-edge">The Edge, Alderley Edge</h2>



<p>Again if I have my Aussie friends staying with me, I&#8217;ll take them up to The Edge. We walk the circuit, from the car park, through woodland, stopping to catch the view towards Manchester, and looping all the way back again. I love that even though it&#8217;s really popular, you don&#8217;t bump into too many people once you&#8217;re in the thick of the woods. And obviously we always grab a coffee from The Wizard Tearoom before heading back to the car. It&#8217;s a wonky little place with loads of outdoor seating and the cinnamon buns are so yummy. They serve them warm but they sell out quickly so you have to get there early.</p>
