<p>Katie Diana Nelson is the creative force behind&nbsp;<a href="https://www.kdnceramics.com/">KDN Ceramics</a>, who lovingly makes one-of-a-kind ceramics, from mugs and cups to planters and jugs. But she also hosts workshops, including a Mother’s Day Special on&nbsp;<strong>Sun 30 March</strong> at Stockport&#8217;s Good Yard Studio, where mamas can play with clay and create their very own piece, which Katie will fire and glaze for you. <p>Is your mama the sort of lady who relishes cocktail hour and cracks open a G&amp;T at the mere slither of sunlight? Head straight to the source and to one of Cheshire&#8217;s esteemed gin distilleries (there are a lot of them) for a tasting tour and a long, languid session in the bar afterwards. Over at Cholmondeley&#8217;s <a href="https://threewrensgin.com">Three Wrens Gin</a>, tours of its award-winning mother&#8217;s ruin include welcome cocktails and six G&amp;Ts. Whilst the Macc-based <a href="https://theforestdistillery.com/">Forest Distillery</a> host tours at the legendary Cat &amp; Fiddle &#8211; the second highest pub in the UK. And on Mother&#8217;s Day, the team are giving away extra free G&amp;T to all mums. </p>

<p>Luckily for us, Cheshire is dotted with a clutch of gorgeous spas with all manner of different spa days and treatments up for grabs. Many of which are destinations in themselves with sprawling pools, sunken hot tubs, Champers on tap and heated day beds. For glamorous pampering, the spa at <a href="https://www.cardenpark.co.uk/">Carden Park</a> is a glittering crowd-pleaser, filled with robed guests ordering glasses of Bolly and swimmers bobbing in the outdoor pool. Over near Crewe, the resplendent and hip <a href="https://www.manorhousealsager.com/">Manor House</a> hosts mellow DJ sets in its spa garden with a swim-up bar and cracking afternoon teas. And <a href="https://www.champneys.com/hotels/mottram-hall.html">Mottram Hall</a> has won plenty of plaudits for its progressive £10 million Champneys spa.</p>

<p>Because, quite frankly, it could be chucking it down. And <a href="https://rexcinemawilmslow.com">The Rex</a> in Wilmslow is screening <em>Snow White</em> and <em>Bridget Jones: Mad About The Boy</em> on Mother&#8217;s Day. Or for something more high-brow, broadcaster and filmmaker <a href="https://www.storyhouse.com/whats-on/stacey-dooley-stories-from-remarkable-mothers/">Stacey Dooley</a> will be appearing at Storyhouse on Mother&#8217;s Day, asking what it really means to be a mother today, inspired by her new book, <em>Dear Minnie: Conversations with Remarkable Mothers</em>.</p>
