<p>Now you don&#8217;t need me to tell you that Manchester is a blinder of a night out. The city&#8217;s ever-evolving, ever-innovative bar scene can lay claim to the crown as one of the best in the north, hell, the entire country. From passion project hideouts to upscale drinking dens and enduringly cool haunts, if you&#8217;re looking for a stiff drink in a dark bar, well, you&#8217;ve come to the right place. </p>



<p>But that&#8217;s not just me talking. The newly revealed&nbsp;<a href="https://www.top50cocktailbars.com/list/1-50" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Top 50 Cocktail Bars UK</a>&nbsp;list sees a couple of familiar names from our patch rubbing shoulders with the very best venues across the country, as voted for by industry experts and cocktail lovers alike.</p>



<p>Storming into the top end of the list, Liverpool-based&nbsp;<a href="https://www.barglue.com" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Bar Glue</a>&nbsp;takes the&nbsp;number two spot nationally (behind <a href="https://www.instagram.com/couchstirchleyb30/?hl=en" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Couch </a>in West Midlands), a remarkable achievement for this casual yet game-changing Albert Dock-side bar that’s won praise for its brilliant drinks, relaxed atmosphere and top-notch service.&nbsp;</p>



<p>Back in Manchester,&nbsp;Art Deco beauty, <a href="https://www.schofieldsbar.com" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Schofield&#8217;s Bar</a> (6),&nbsp;remains one of the country’s most revered cocktail destinations, holding its own at&nbsp;number six in 2026. Tucked away in its iconic Art Deco setting, this bar’s reputation for pristinely-turned-out bar tenders, and a terrifically cool atmosphere for sinking punchy cocktails continues to get national recognition.&nbsp;</p>



<p>Manchester’s influence doesn’t stop there. <a href="https://speakincodebar.com" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Speak in Code</a> (14) again features on the list (this time in the mid-teens), a testament to its playful, flavour-forward cocktails and distinct identity (clever flavours and hip hop playlists) that has helped put the city on the modern cocktail map. And adding to the Manchester’s strong showing, Blinker (23) — known for its sceney yet grown-up ambience — holds a solid place further down the rankings.</p>



<p>Also on the list from Liverpool is <a href="https://www.slowpour.bar" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Slow Pour</a> (30), another local favourite that continues to garner acclaim for its intimate, music-rich vibe and eclectic drinks list, as well as New York-inspired space, <a href="https://www.sisterray.bar" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Sister Ray</a> (34) in Liverpool. And then there&#8217;s <a href="https://www.the-morris.co.uk" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">The Morris</a> (42) in Manchester&#8217;s Northern Quarter  &#8211; a newbie on the list &#8211; which has been quietly making ripples on the city&#8217;s bar scene, thanks to its retro-flavoured cocktails shaken above its traditional pub downstairs. </p>
