Manchester is putting on one helluva blooming show featuring vast floral installations, outdoor dining  and FREE botanical-inspired entertainment from <strong>Sat 23 – Mon 25 May</strong>. <h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-the-floral-trail"><a href="https://www.visitmanchester.com/the-manchester-flower-festival/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">The Floral Trail</a></h2>



<p>Central to the whole shebang is the sweeping series of five large-scale flower installations, inspired by Manchester’s greener future. Expect imaginative displays referencing everything from the redevelopment of Piccadilly Gardens to Castlefield Viaduct, rooftop beehives and pollinator-friendly planting. Follow the fragrant scents of the trail, looping in and around St Ann&#8217;s Square and King Street. </p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-the-festival-zone"><a href="https://www.visitmanchester.com/the-manchester-flower-festival/festival-zone-displays/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">The Festival Zone</a></h2>



<p>Potter around the city centre and you&#8217;ll discover hidden gardens blooming and floral displays in the most unassuming of spots. Make a beeline for Selfridges Exchange Square, which is once again hosting its own flower-filled takeover, with an oversized floral installation, pop-up florists, live DJs, family activities and foodie pop-ups spilling out across the square. New for 2026, don’t miss the charming Ginnel Gardens dotted around Exchange Street — a series of quirky mini gardens inspired by Manchester’s grassroots gardening scene. All this, plus the Makers Market, filled with curated gifts from a collective of local artisans.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-floral-workshops"><a href="https://www.visitmanchester.com/the-manchester-flower-festival/floral-workshops/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Floral workshops</a></h2>



<p>Fancy getting crafty with florals? Throughout the festival, there will be a host of workshops hosted by a collective of local enterprises. Try making your own dried flower ring with Clocktower Florist ; dabble in a peonies workshop with Elizabeth Honey, founder of the British Flowers Movement; rustle up a jam jar posy with Victoria Rose Florals and IOLLA; and join Manchester urban gardeners <a href="https://plantmcr.co.uk" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Plant Co-operative</a> for a full day takeover of free, drop-in family friendly activities.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-fringe-events"><a href="https://www.visitmanchester.com/the-manchester-flower-festival/the-manchester-flower-festival-fringe-displays/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Fringe events</a></h2>



<p>Beyond the city centre, botanical displays and installations will be blooming across parks and green spaces, hosted by the National Trust. One of the best ways to soak up the festival atmosphere? Nab an outdoor table and settle in for a long, languid lunch among the blooms along King Street, where Gail’s Bakery, El Gato Negro and Franco Manca and more will be getting fully involved in the floral festivities<strong>.</strong> </p>
