<p>For somewhere gloriously unique, how about bedding down in this former 19th-century water tower? Over seven years and via three architects the dilapidated tower was reimagined into a design-heavy home with a prevailing sense of contemporary cool and became the subject (and a favourite) of Kevin McCloud’s <em>Grand Designs</em>. And guests can now stay in the penthouse suite, striding up the private spiral staircase and arriving in an all-white space that feels like a secret sleepover. A state-of-the-art sound system, mood lighting and tranquil lounge are all a part of this remarkably calm and visionary space. But the real trump card is the palm-dotted roof terrace you’ll have all to yourselves, with heartmeltingly beautiful surroundings and a bubbling hot tub.&nbsp; </p>

<p>One for spa lovers, but really, aren&#8217;t we all fans of lying spread-eagled on a spa bed or floating around in a balmy pool? Over at this <a href="https://cheshire.muddystilettos.co.uk/travel/uk/manor-house-hotel-spa-review/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">dreamy pad</a> near Crewe, meadows and country views surround this spruced-up farmhouse. Beds are squishy, service is slick and the restaurant is firing on all cylinders with an unpretentious yet globally inspired menu. But the true magic of the place unravels in the spa, where guests float around its lavender-scented spa garden, snoozing on day beds and paddling over to its swim-up bar, where glasses of fizz are whipped out amid the haze of the steamy pool. </p>
